Some activities not listed above are things like sea kayaking. The east coast is particularly interesting, as there are lots of sheltered inlets and bays to explore.
The eastern side of the island is far more sheltered than the west, although if the weather is good then kayaking from the beaches out to Taransay and other off shore islands is really special. More advice about Kayaking can be found by clicking here
Another more recent sport is Kite surfing. On a fine windy Harris day is guaranteed to thrill in an idyllic landscape. Many of the best kitesurfing beaches have superb views across to other islands like Taransay and Saint Kilda.
